The paper examines methods for generating artificial fingerprints for testing biometric identification systems.
The use of artificial fingerprints makes it possible to create large databases necessary for evaluating the accuracy of
recognition algorithms. The study discusses the main biometric characteristics of fingerprints, including global and local
features, as well as mathematical models for constructing papillary lines, such as Bezier curves and image processing
methods. Existing approaches, including those based on reaction-diffusion models and frequency transformations, are
analyzed. The importance of developing algorithms that ensure the realism of synthesized fingerprints is emphasized.
