The article addresses the development of a dynamic MIMO model of the azeotropic distillation process as
an object of automatic control. The process is characterized by strong multivariable interactions, nonlinearity, and the
presence of vapor–liquid equilibrium involving an entrainer. Based on a simplified MESH approach, a state-space matrix
model suitable for dynamic analysis and the synthesis of predictive controllers is obtained. A structural diagram of the
azeotropic distillation column and transient responses of the main control channels are presented
