WELLNESS TOURISM AS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF HEALTH TOURISM

Wellness tourism is one of the most successful segments of the tourism industry, and in the context of the 21st
century, it can be said that achieving a healthy body and mind represents a triumph of modern medicine. This type of
tourism not only encompasses treatment and rehabilitation processes but also aims to improve physical and mental wellbeing,
prevent diseases, and strengthen immunity. It relies on a comprehensive use of natural resources (mineral waters,
therapeutic muds, climate), modern medical technologies, and wellness methods (physiotherapy, massage, balneotherapy,
phytotherapy). When integrated with other segments of medical tourism, such as post-surgical rehabilitation or support
for oncology patients, wellness tourism provides patients with the opportunity for complete recovery and a return to a high
quality of life.
