This article examines the consequences of the ban on flavored e-cigarettes and vapes, with a focus on consumer
behavior in Uzbekistan. The study, which surveyed 1,031 active vaping users, highlights the signifcant challenges and
unintended consequences that such a ban could bring.
The article explores consumer preferences for regulatory alternatives and highlights the complexity of regulatory
responses to tobacco control. It suggests that outright bans may be ineffective in reducing smoking rates and may lead
to negative public health consequences. The fndings provide an opportunity for policymakers to consider more effective
