This paper explores the development of the fruit and vegetable sector as a key factor in ensuring a stable and
sufficient food supply for the population. Given the growing global demand for healthy and nutritious food, the efficient
organization of fruit and vegetable production plays a vital role in achieving food security. The study examines modern
methods of cultivation, the application of innovative agricultural technologies, sustainable resource management, and
post-harvest handling, including storage and logistics systems. Special attention is given to the economic and social
significance of the sector, as well as strategies aimed at increasing productivity, improving quality standards, and
enhancing export potential. The integration of environmentally friendly practices and government support mechanisms
are also discussed as essential tools in strengthening the sector’s contribution to national food security.
